On Friday 29 November at the Pálás Cinema in Galway, Bob Quinn was presented with the Ceanntar Scannán award by the Galway UNESCO City of Film for his lifelong contribution to Irish film.

The award was presented by President Michael D. Higgins and Lelia Doolan, and accompanied by a screening of Quinn’s classic 1978 work Poitín, the first Irish-language feature film.
