‘Caoineadh Airt Uí Laoire’ and ‘Cinegael Paradiso’ at the Galway Film Fleadh 2025

To mark 50 years since the making of Bob Quinn’s film Caoineadh Airt Uí Laoire, a special screening will take place at Seanscoil Sailearna (where the film was originally shot) on Thursday 10 July at 8pm as part of the Galway Film Fleadh. Book here.

In addition, Cinegael Paradiso, directed by Robert Quinn and which tells the story of Bob’s film company Cinegael in Conamara in the 1970s, will be screened on Wednesday 9 July at 2pm at the Town Hall Theatre. This screening is taking place to mark the recent publication of Bob’s new book, Count Me Out: Selected Writings of Filmmaker Bob Quinn. Book tickets for the screening here.

Finally, Oíche Chultúir, a new short film directed by Bob’s grandson Oisín Fleming, will be shown as part of the Gearrscannáin programme at the Galway Film Fleadh on Wednesday 9 July at 10.30am. Book here.
